While I was checking out other bloggers, I came across kwerners site and she usally has a challenge on the blog. I have thought about doing some in the past but of course, never get around to it.
So, I decided today would be different. I got out the colors she had chosen; which are, real red, basic black, whisper white, so saffron, and green galore. I had purchased this wheel awhile back but hadn't inked it up until now. I used all of the colors and I really like it!! It was so much easier than picking all of the same colors I usually do. It brought me out of my comfort zone, for a change.
I hope this inspires you to try one of those challenges and just go for it!

Happy Heart Day

Isn't it cute? This paper is from the new Sale a Bration catalog that is available starting Feb 1st.
I was trying to make a few "manly" valentines, so I was staying away from the traditional pinks and reds. So instead, I used blues and greens. The stamp is also from the Happy Heart Day stamp set.

Manly Valentine #2

Rock Star!!! These items are also available in the new SAB catalog in Feb. The stamp set is called A Little Somethin' and the designer paper is called Delicate Dots. So for every $50 you spend during SAB you could pick one of those free!!! Can't beat that deal!!

Manly Valentines

I was trying to make some "manly" valentines and this is one that I came up with. I was trying out the new Designer Series paper that Stampin'Up! will be offering in the Sale-a Bration catalog starting on Feb 1st.

The paper is called Delicate Dots and is very springlike. The colors in it are Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Sandstone (which is shown here), and So Saffron.

The stamp set is called Happy Heart Day. I used Real Red as the mat behind the elephant and just brushed the edges of the Whisper White, that the elephant is on, with Basic Black.

I then added a few brads and that is it!

This is a simple layout for a card that I use often. Just use a solid color for the base of card, then a white strip of cardstock to stamp on. I used the set Seeing Spots (LOVE IT) and just stamped randomly on the strip of white. Then just use a coordinating strip of card stock that is slightly larger for a pop of color. A simple tag puched out of the center to highlight an item is all there is to it! Very simple!!

This is just a simple card I made for my club a while ago. I used the Pick a Petal and Happy Everything stamp set. The card stock is choc chip and pumpkin pie. The petals are stamped in choc chip on the very vanilla card stock. The "birthday" is on dimensionals.
I think I will use some Spring colors and make a new one, I will post it later. Thanks for stopping by

Candy Bar Wrapper

I created this candy bar wrapper last Valentine's Day for a workshop that I was doing with the Happy Heart Day stamp set (so glad this one did not retire!). The wrapper is just stamped with the Staz On white and then it is crimped on the bottom. The sticky strip is the best way I found to hold it all together. The circle punch is used at the top to help get a good grip on the chocolate.

I did emboss the tag with silver embossing powder. I used basic grey for the larger tag to match the silver. This is a super simple project for a loved one at Valentine's Day.

Simply Said

I was just playing around with some Dazzling Diamonds and this is what I came up with. I was thinking if using the Simply Said stamp set for my club in February and also incorporating a little bling ("diamonds") for Valentine's Day. I used the 2 way glue pen to add the bling to the edges of the whisper white cardstock and then just dipped it in the Dazzling Diamonds for the sparkle.

I embossed the flowers and also added the diamonds to them with the 2 way glue and the diamonds.
Thanks for stopping by!!!!!!!

Sorry for the really dark picture but that is what happens when I take pictures in the evening without natural sunlight!

This is the new stamp set Sweet Stems again. This time I used soft subtle colors and Kraft cardstock for the base. I just matche dthe marker color with the mat cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by. I will post again soon.

Sweet Stems

I am really likng this stamp set. It is going to be in the new catalog this Spring. I don't usually do little cutsie flowers but this one is so easy to work with. I stamped each one with classic black and then colored them in with real red markers. I mounted them on basic black so the very vanilla would pop!

I think I will be making some more of these for my kids teachers for a neat Valentine's Day gift.

Tree Time

I know it's a little late for Christmas cards but I did not have a chance to get this on here until now. I made this card for my upline. We did the Stamp a Stack together so I wanted to make her something that she had not seen yet. And I know she liked the tree made with the photo corner punch.

I used the Ski Slope dsp for the tree and the background. The ribbon is retired (sorry) . I used the new scallop edge on the bottom for a hint of the close to cocoa cardstock. And for the finishing touch I added a button from the earth elements and neutrals (which is retiring soon). I really hope they come out with some more buttons in the new catalog!
