Inspired by others

This is a color challenge from Diva Coffee Break Designs and the sketch is from Mojo Monday.

The colors are definitely out of my realm!

They are Basic Gray, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise, and Green Galore.

I really enjoyed using sketch for inspiration instead of using my own creative abilities. (It was much easier)

Thanks for stopping by!!!!

Lady bug gift

Yummy and cute.

One of my club members, Trenda Garrett, gave this to me at our February meeting. I thought I would share it with all of you also. Thank you, Trenda!!! You can never go wrong with a Chocolate and Almond candy bar!!

I love how this card came together so fast!!
The designer paper is from the Sale A Bration mini catalog. It is called Delicate Dots. It coordinates nicely with the Bashful Blue. I used Very Vanilla ribbon and it matches nicely, also. The cherish stamp is from a set called Warm Words.
Simple!

Easy 6x6 pages

Aren't these adorable? I made these for a class I was doing last weekend. I was showing how easy pages can come together without a lot of time and just a few simple items. The descriptions are in the next two posts. Thank you for looking today!!

A 6x6 for Sale A Bration

This is a easy-peasy way to show off how simple it is to put together a 6x6 scrapbook page. The paper is So Saffron, Certainly Celery, and Delicate Dots Designer Series Paper (from the SAB mini) The stamp set is also from the mini, it is called Polka Dot Punches. These are nice spring pastel colors.

Friend 6x6

This is a simple 6x6 scrapbook page that I made for a class. I used the designer series paper from the Sale A Bration mini catalog. I also used Certainly Celery and Whisper White to coordinate with the paper.

Happiness Is

This is a card that I used the brayer tech for again. I versamarked the "white" flower and then brayered Baja Breeze over them. The versamark makes the glossy paper resist any color you ink over it. Then I stamped the chocolate chip flower onto the glossy paper. I found that they don't dry very fast so you can heat set them for a little faster drying. I then just made a small knot out of the choc chip gingham ribbon and used a glue dot to attach it to the card.
I stamped the happy birthday to the bottom.
The cardstock used for this is Baja Breeze and Choc Chip. I used glossy paper from Stampin' Up!
The stamp sets I used are Little Flowers and Happy Everything.
Thanks for looking today!

A little yummy for your tummy

What an easy project for my club!!

This is called a diaper fold, I need to think of a different name for this, after having a home daycare for many years that last thing I want to think of are diapers. At least this one has a good treat inside. Sorry for that visual!! Any way this is really a cute project and so simple to put together.

The fold is pretty simple, you just need a square piece of paper, I used a 8 1/2" square. I made one with a 12" square but it turned out really big and I used a 6" square and it was too small (sounds like Goldilocks, lol) anyway, fold the square into a triangle and then bring one side up to the center of the opposite side and then fold the other side over top the side you just folded. Then fold down the top piece of the triangle this will hold the two pieces you just folded. I know you are reading this and going "Huh" but once you do it you will get what I just said. If you just can't see it (I don't blame you) you can go to splitcoaststampers and they have a wonderful explanation with pictures.

After you figure out the folding then you can embellish as you like. I used the designer series paper called Sweet Always. And the stamp set is from Sale a Bration called Yummy. I filled it up with tootsie rolls and tied it with some choc chip ribbon.

Wild about you

What do you think of that adorable alligator (or crocodile) with the googlie eyeballs? I finally tried the tech of masking. I am using the brayer for my club this month and I love how this turned out with the Wild About You stamp set.

I tried to make the scrap page both girlie and boyish so I think the purple and green combo will work for that.

For this tech all you need is a brayer, glossy paper ( I love this stuff), and a piece of computer paper that is ripped. The alligator/croc is versa marked on the glossy paper and it will resist the ink that you brayer over the glossy paper. Starting with the lightest color of ink, cover the glossy paper entirely with the ink and then put the comp paper where you like on the glossy paper and choose the next color (a little darker) and roll it on the paper. Continue to do this with as many colors as you like, just get a little darker each time.

I love the way this turned out and I hope my club will also.

While I was checking out other bloggers, I came across kwerners site and she usally has a challenge on the blog. I have thought about doing some in the past but of course, never get around to it.
So, I decided today would be different. I got out the colors she had chosen; which are, real red, basic black, whisper white, so saffron, and green galore. I had purchased this wheel awhile back but hadn't inked it up until now. I used all of the colors and I really like it!! It was so much easier than picking all of the same colors I usually do. It brought me out of my comfort zone, for a change.
I hope this inspires you to try one of those challenges and just go for it!

Happy Heart Day

Isn't it cute? This paper is from the new Sale a Bration catalog that is available starting Feb 1st.
I was trying to make a few "manly" valentines, so I was staying away from the traditional pinks and reds. So instead, I used blues and greens. The stamp is also from the Happy Heart Day stamp set.

Manly Valentine #2

Rock Star!!! These items are also available in the new SAB catalog in Feb. The stamp set is called A Little Somethin' and the designer paper is called Delicate Dots. So for every $50 you spend during SAB you could pick one of those free!!! Can't beat that deal!!

Manly Valentines

I was trying to make some "manly" valentines and this is one that I came up with. I was trying out the new Designer Series paper that Stampin'Up! will be offering in the Sale-a Bration catalog starting on Feb 1st.

The paper is called Delicate Dots and is very springlike. The colors in it are Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Sandstone (which is shown here), and So Saffron.

The stamp set is called Happy Heart Day. I used Real Red as the mat behind the elephant and just brushed the edges of the Whisper White, that the elephant is on, with Basic Black.

I then added a few brads and that is it!

This is a simple layout for a card that I use often. Just use a solid color for the base of card, then a white strip of cardstock to stamp on. I used the set Seeing Spots (LOVE IT) and just stamped randomly on the strip of white. Then just use a coordinating strip of card stock that is slightly larger for a pop of color. A simple tag puched out of the center to highlight an item is all there is to it! Very simple!!

This is just a simple card I made for my club a while ago. I used the Pick a Petal and Happy Everything stamp set. The card stock is choc chip and pumpkin pie. The petals are stamped in choc chip on the very vanilla card stock. The "birthday" is on dimensionals.
I think I will use some Spring colors and make a new one, I will post it later. Thanks for stopping by

Candy Bar Wrapper

I created this candy bar wrapper last Valentine's Day for a workshop that I was doing with the Happy Heart Day stamp set (so glad this one did not retire!). The wrapper is just stamped with the Staz On white and then it is crimped on the bottom. The sticky strip is the best way I found to hold it all together. The circle punch is used at the top to help get a good grip on the chocolate.

I did emboss the tag with silver embossing powder. I used basic grey for the larger tag to match the silver. This is a super simple project for a loved one at Valentine's Day.

Simply Said

I was just playing around with some Dazzling Diamonds and this is what I came up with. I was thinking if using the Simply Said stamp set for my club in February and also incorporating a little bling ("diamonds") for Valentine's Day. I used the 2 way glue pen to add the bling to the edges of the whisper white cardstock and then just dipped it in the Dazzling Diamonds for the sparkle.

I embossed the flowers and also added the diamonds to them with the 2 way glue and the diamonds.

Sorry for the really dark picture but that is what happens when I take pictures in the evening without natural sunlight!

This is the new stamp set Sweet Stems again. This time I used soft subtle colors and Kraft cardstock for the base. I just matche dthe marker color with the mat cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by. I will post again soon.

Sweet Stems

I am really likng this stamp set. It is going to be in the new catalog this Spring. I don't usually do little cutsie flowers but this one is so easy to work with. I stamped each one with classic black and then colored them in with real red markers. I mounted them on basic black so the very vanilla would pop!

I think I will be making some more of these for my kids teachers for a neat Valentine's Day gift.

Tree Time

I know it's a little late for Christmas cards but I did not have a chance to get this on here until now. I made this card for my upline. We did the Stamp a Stack together so I wanted to make her something that she had not seen yet. And I know she liked the tree made with the photo corner punch.

I used the Ski Slope dsp for the tree and the background. The ribbon is retired (sorry) . I used the new scallop edge on the bottom for a hint of the close to cocoa cardstock. And for the finishing touch I added a button from the earth elements and neutrals (which is retiring soon). I really hope they come out with some more buttons in the new catalog!
